Roh Furniture is a furniture brand founded by master carpenter Hannah Rotthaus.
The idea grew from the wish to create not only expensive custom made furniture, but also pieces that are more accessible while maintaining a high standard of quality and durability. The focus is on clean, straightforward design that enables efficient production, combined with high-quality, sustainable materials.
All furniture is produced at our workshop in Berlin-Neukölln.
The materials
Pine is the primary material used in our furniture. Compared to other types of wood, pine is affordable and fast-growing. Most of the pine used for the Roh furniture collection comes from Bavaria, Germany.
For the surfaces, we use three-layer spruce panels from a manufacturer in Austria. The panels are finished with furniture linoleum by Forbo, which is produced in the Netherlands.
“Furniture for everyone”
Our furniture is designed to keep the manufacturing process as simple as possible. For example, the components are based on just two different cross-sections: 80 × 24 mm and 80 × 40 mm. This allows the timber parts to be produced efficiently from the raw material.
All holes and milled details for the connecting hardware are made entirely using an automated CNC machine. This allows us to reduce the manufacturing effort and offer furniture that is high-quality, durable and affordable.
